Phillip N. Sanov, Esq.
A trial lawyer for over 25 years, Phillip N. Sanov has worked in all areas of civil litigation. Phillip’s primary focus remains with Merlin Law Group’s renewed emphasis on taking cases to a jury trial. Phillip believes policyholders benefit from Merlin’s pledge to provide policyholders the resources, fortitude and skillset to go all the way to verdict when necessary. Phillip’s role as lead trial lawyer in recent cases – including a multi-million dollar jury verdict – confirms Merlin’s success with their commitment.
Phillip remains passionate about providing efficient and effective advocacy to insurance policyholders and claimants that have been wrongfully denied and/or underpaid for their loss. Phillip and his team have extensive experience representing policyholder clients focused on all facets of insurance law, including claim presentation, business income loss claims, coverage disputes, bad faith failure to pay issues, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and first-party insurance litigation.
Phillip carries an AV Preeminent peer rating in Martindale-Hubbell, and is recognized as “Top Rated” in Texas Legal Leaders. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Houston Bar Association. A frequent speaker on trial tactics and effective communication skills, Phillip serves on the advisory board for the 360 Advocacy Group, an industry organization that supports the Plaintiff bar with information and trial tactics that help Plaintiff lawyers counter changing jury perceptions and insurance industry defense tactics. Actively involved as an athlete and volunteer for triathlons and running events, Phillip and his wife, Tiffany, live in Houston.
