Biography

William “Corey” Harris is a nationally recognized trial attorney known for his expertise in first-party property insurance litigation and bad faith claims. He graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he received honors in Legal Research and Writing and served as a teaching assistant for both Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy. He also holds a cum laude degree in Political Science from Auburn University.

Corey began his legal career as a Legal Intern for the Honorable Michael Bolin at the Alabama Supreme Court before joining Merlin Law Group, where he clerked for several years and became a fulltime attorney in 2009. He currently leads a team of attorneys and paralegals in Tampa, Florida, and is licensed to practice in Florida, California, Texas, and Colorado. He has handled cases nationwide.

Corey’s work has earned him accolades from Best Lawyers by U.S. News & World Report, Florida Super Lawyers, and Tampa Bay Magazine’s Top Attorneys. He is active in several professional organizations, including the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association, and the ABA’s Trial Lawyers Division. He previously served as general counsel for the Rocky Mountain Association of Public Insurance Adjusters.

A sought-after speaker, Corey has presented on topics ranging from pre-suit settlements to emerging trends in insurance litigation. He has also been featured in media outlets such as Business Insurance and Pocket Sense. Outside of work, Corey enjoys family time with his wife, Ashley, and their two sons, Liam and Scott.
