Charles “Chase” R. Mathis IV brings a well-rounded perspective to the practice of law, having worked in various positions in multiple law firms since 2005. While in law school, Chase worked fulltime as a paralegal for one of the largest insurance defense firms in the country. This experience was instrumental when he became a lawyer—he understood the proper research, client interviews, and the ins and outs of specific case law in certain states.
Chase has seen the legal process play out in many different ways and knows what it takes to get his clients what they need from the most simplistic of tasks to the most complex. He ensures he will explore all avenues on behalf of his clients to provide the highest quality of representation to safeguard a successful outcome.
Over the last few years, Chase has represented several hundred home and business owners affected by the devastation from Superstorm Sandy and has personally assisted in the recovery of more than $20 million dollars in unpaid insurance claims. As a lifelong Jersey Shore resident, being able to assist and advocate for his local brethren was extremely important to him.
When not at work, Chase spends time with his wife, Tara, his daughter, Claire and their two dogs. He enjoys golfing, snowboarding, surfing, and photography. Chase joined Merlin Law Group in 2013 and is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
