Marie E. Laur focuses her practice on the representation of policyholders in first party insurance claims. Marie worked her way through law school as a paralegal and has significant experience in numerous legal fields, including construction law. Her passion is assisting homeowners with claims against insurance companies. As a result, she became associated with Merlin Law Group.
Marie grew up in Maitland, Florida and attended Trinity Preparatory School. She then went to Stetson University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in political science. She minored in business law and psychology in preparation of her anticipated goal of becoming a lawyer.
Marie attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School on a honors scholarship. She also received the Certificate of Merit award—which is the highest grade in a class—in two subjects, Negotiation and Confrontation as well as Slavery and Trafficking.
Marie says that her favorite aspect of being a lawyer at Merlin Law Group is to “giving a voice to the voiceless.”
Marie is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida and was sworn in by Judge Nazaretian in Hillsborough County. She works extensively with Kelly Kubiak on insurance disputes nationwide.
