Julitza was born in New Jersey and grew up in Puerto Rico. A graduate from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus in 2011 (Bachelor of Arts in Psychology) and a 2014 graduate of the Inter American University, School of Law in Puerto Rico (Juris Doctor).
As a psychology student, Julitza did a research on stress and resilience in war children in Iraq, results and analysis were published by the American Psychological Association (APA) in 2010 and she also presented them at the Annual American Psychological Association Convention in San Diego, California (2010). While in Law School, Julitza was part of the litigation team and represented the university in state and national competitions such as the “Capitol City Challenge” celebrated in the Superior Court in Washington D.C. (2014). She also served as a law clerk intern for the Appellate Court of Puerto Rico.
During her second year of Law School she did a student exchange program in Europe and studied International Law at the Advanced Legal Institute (London, United Kingdom), Ca’Foscari University (Venice, Italy) and at the Complutense University (Madrid, Spain). This experience helped Julitza understand, compare, and develop new law perspectives from these countries as well as learning from their cultures.
Julitza is a Licensed Attorney for Puerto Rico and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Prior to joining Merlin Law Group in November 2017, Julitza worked as a Law Clerk in Labor and Family Law firms in Puerto Rico. In 2016, she moved to Clearwater, Florida and worked as a litigation legal assistant and judgments quality check specialist for a foreclosure law firm in Tampa, Florida.
Julitza contributes to Merlin Law Group’s Property Insurance Coverage Law Blog and Condominium Insurance Law Blog on topics related to property insurance claims in Puerto Rico.
